SHOCKING footage of a father passing a lit cigarette to his baby son for a puff has been posted online.
In the two-minute video, published by The Sun, the toddler puts the cigarette in his mouth and drags on it repeatedly after being encouraged by his dad — while a woman can be heard laughing in the background.
At one point the youngster points to the fag while his dad is holding it — but when the man refuses to hand it over the child bursts into tears.
At another stage, the boy smiles and giggles into the camera.
The boy then points to a fresh packet of smokes and the father offers to light him one.
Footage of the incident — which is said to have occurred in Russia, although it has not been verified as genuine — has been viewed thousands of times online.
And sadly, this is not the first time footage of a smoking toddler has shocked the world.
In 2010 it was revealed Aldi Rizal, a two-year-old Indonesian boy, had picked up the horrific habit in his village in Sumatra.
Thankfully, Aldi quit his 40-cigarettes-a-day habit at the ripe old age of five and traded it for a junk food addiction and now weighs 25 kilograms.
Aldi’s mother Diane Rizal, 28, told The Daily Mail at the time: “When Aldi first quit smoking he would demand a lot of toys.
“He would bang his head on the wall if he couldn’t get what he wanted. That’s why I get him cigarettes in the first place — because of his temper and his crying.
“Now I don’t give him cigarettes, but he eats a lot. With so many people living in the house it’s hard to stop him from getting food.”
Two weeks ago, a similarly disturbing video that appeared to show a toddler smoking marijuana was uploaded online, sparking a manhunt for its parents.
The video, uploaded by Vine user Chief Smokes, shows a young toddler allegedly smoking a joint of marijuana while wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt.
The toddler is seen inhaling from the alleged joint, before sitting back down on a toilet seat.
Adults are heard laughing in the background, and a pair of one adult’s hands is seen briefly before the video ends.
