Kevin Durant’s (KD) Miraculous Shot Defies the Laws of Physics

Kevin Durant is one of the NBA’s top players, a prolific scorer known for his highlight-reel performances.

But the Oklahoma City Thunder forward outdid himself Monday, chucking up a near-impossible, off-balance shot as he was falling out of bounds for the three-pointer – and making the subsequent foul shot for a four-point play.

The improbable shot came late in the fourth quarter of Oklahoma City’s playoff game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Thunder trailed 98-93 with about 14 seconds left. Teammate Russell Westbrook passed Durant the ball. Defender Marc Gasol bumped Durant, sending him falling backward. Durant heaved the ball in desperation.

Somehow, someway, it went in.

Durant, 25, converted the free throw for the three-point play, trimming the deficit to one. The Thunder later tied the game, but the Grizzlies won in overtime, 111-105, knotting the first-round series at one game apiece.

Despite Oklahoma City's loss, basketball fans couldn't stop rewatching and gushing about Durant's shot.
